Opal Family Services and Special Olympics New Brunswick have partnered to offer day camps through the months of July and August 2023. With a ratio of one camp counsellor for each child who requires this level of support, we plan to offer a safe, inclusive, and engaging program full of activities, crafts, games, and outings. We offer inclusive programming and provide assistance to meet the unique needs of our campers. Support workers are welcome.
The camp will be located at 245 Westmorland St. Fredericton (Christ Church) and Nashwaaksis Baptist Church located at 104 Edgewood Dr. Fredericton. Camp Wonder has no religious affiliation and we are grateful for the use of this large, accessible space at a reduced rate. The two facilities will allow us to welcome more campers while keeping our groups small for COVID-19 reasons and also to meet the sensory needs of our campers. Campers are welcome to register for 2 weeks.
The cost is $225/week (9am-4pm). Payment can be made by e-transfer or by check to Opal Family Services. Families can apply for financial support for camp through the Department of Social Development or through Canadian Tire’s Jumpstart program. http://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/content/microsites/jumpstart/en/apply.html#wanttoapply
